Custom ROM ports based on OEM skins are always a bit different from AOSP-based builds—and ColorOS is no exception. With this ColorOS China Port based on OnePlus Ace 3 (Genshin Edition), Alioth users now get a chance to experience Android 16 through Oppo/OnePlus’ ecosystem, complete with deep system integrations, aggressive performance tuning, and a feature set that feels very different from stock MIUI or Pixel-style ROMs.

Updated on 24 December 2025, this build is clearly aimed at enthusiasts and testers who enjoy trying something new and don’t mind giving a ROM a few days to settle before judging it. It’s decrypted, permissive, packed with tweaks, and already passes strong Play Integrity, which is impressive for a China-based port.

This article explains what this ColorOS port offers, what works well, what needs patience, and who should consider flashing it.

What Is This ColorOS Port?

This ROM is a China-based ColorOS port built from the OnePlus Ace 3 (Genshin Edition) firmware and adapted for SM8250 devices, including:

  • Poco F3
  • Mi 11X
  • Redmi K40

ColorOS and OxygenOS now share a very similar codebase, so if you’ve used recent OxygenOS or even HyperOS ports, you’ll feel some familiarity here—especially in background behavior, power management, and UI structure.

That said, this is still a port, not a native build. Some things take time to stabilize, and the maintainer is very clear about that.

ROM Overview

  • ROM Type: ColorOS China Port
  • Android Version: Android 16
  • Base: OnePlus Ace 3 (Genshin Edition)
  • Security Patch: October
  • Encryption: Decrypted
  • SELinux: Permissive
  • Kernel: Error404
  • Recovery: TWRP included
  • Updated: 24/12/2025

What Works Well in This Build?

Despite being a port, this ROM already gets many important things right.

System & Stability

  • Decrypted build (easy modding, fewer headaches)
  • Play Integrity passes strong
  • AOD fixed
  • Fingerprint working
  • Ringtone and message sound issues fixed
  • BPF-related issues resolved
  • Brightness increased (temporary tuning)
  • Strong vibration feedback

The ROM boots reliably and is usable for daily testing once it settles.

Performance & Gaming

This is one of the strongest areas of the build:

  • Unlocked higher FPS in all games
  • Custom thermal configuration for balance + performance
  • Dynamic charging behavior refined
  • Kernel profiles included for tuning

Gaming performance is aggressive, but users are advised to let the ROM settle for at least 24 hours before judging heat or battery behavior.

Charging & Multimedia

  • 33W charging animation with SuperVOOC
  • Wired earphones working
  • Bluetooth audio working
  • Dolby Vision unlocked (Netflix spoofing – test results may vary)
  • Improved sound output overall

This ROM clearly targets users who enjoy media consumption and gaming.

Spoofing & Extras

Included out of the box:

  • Netflix spoofing
  • Snapchat spoofing
  • Google Photos spoof
  • GCam included with config
  • OPlus Dialer and Messages (Google apps removed)

For users who like OEM-style apps instead of Google defaults, this is a big plus.

Kernel & Advanced Notes (Read Carefully)

This ROM uses Error404 kernel with added kernel profiles.

Before flashing any kernel:

  • Backup boot.img, dtbo.img, and vendor_boot.img
  • Flash kernel
  • Wipe Dalvik/cache
  • Reboot system

⚠️ Important:

  • Do NOT enable DT2W from system settings
  • It breaks deep sleep

Correct Way to Enable DT2W

Edit the file:

/sdcard/OPFeatures/Double-tap-to-wake.txt

Set:

on → enable
off → disable

This method works correctly without harming deep sleep.

Battery & Heating – Honest Expectations

The maintainer is very clear here, and users should be too.

  • Battery backup is moderate initially
  • ROM needs 2–3 days to stabilize
  • Heating improves after 24 hours
  • Do not judge battery or thermals on first boot

This behavior is normal for heavy OEM ports like ColorOS or HyperOS.

Known Issues & Limitations

As expected with a port of this complexity:

  • Face unlock issues
  • App lock & some privacy features
  • NFC works for some users, not for others
  • Offline charging issues

These are known and not hidden. Users are encouraged to check the bug list and report properly.

Flashing Instructions (Important)

  1. Boot to recovery
  2. Flash recommended firmware
  3. Flash ROM
  4. Reboot to recovery
  5. Format data
  6. Switch to Slot A
  7. Reboot system

If Decrypted Already

  • No need to format
  • Just wipe Dalvik/cache

Coming From a Different Base

  • Format data is strongly recommended

Using the correct firmware is mandatory:

  • Mi 11X: 1.0.1.0 IN
  • Poco F3: 1.0.2.0 Global
  • Redmi K40: 1.0.3.0 CN

Skipping firmware is the fastest way to break the ROM.

Who Should Try This ROM?

This ColorOS port is best for users who:

  • Enjoy OEM-style ROMs
  • Want Android 16 early
  • Like gaming and performance tweaks
  • Don’t mind early instability
  • Are comfortable troubleshooting

Who Should Avoid It (For Now)?

You may want to wait if you:

  • Need perfect battery life immediately
  • Rely heavily on NFC
  • Want zero bugs
  • Prefer AOSP-style simplicity

This ROM is powerful—but it needs patience.

Final Verdict: Worth Flashing?

If you understand what a China-based OEM port involves and are willing to give the ROM time to settle, this ColorOS Android 16 port is actually very impressive for its stage.

It’s fast, feature-packed, visually polished, and already passes integrity—something many ports struggle with. It’s not for everyone, but for enthusiasts, it’s a solid and exciting build.
